Nihility Face (2021)

The Nihility face represents a state of non-being, which in itself is a paradox. We often consider ‘existence’ as the backdrop, but nothingness becomes just another ‘background’ once we remove the initial one. What’s intriguing, however, is that people can perceive this transition through time, acting as a medium between existence and nothingness. The process within time resembles a changing harmony field, residing in the moment, continually progressing to the next field, often unbeknownst.

What makes the clarinet’s sound particularly special to me is the transition between silence and sound. It’s as though it shifts from the ‘background’ to the ‘foreground,’ creating a soft and warm sensation. Through the interplay of different harmonies within a gentle texture, it encapsulates the transitions between various scenes and sceneries.
