The entire story revolves around a “field.” The title is inspired by Matthew 13:24, extracting poetic imagery from the text: a harmonic field composed of countless particles. The use of additional sounding objects and prepared instruments introduces an element of “erosion” to stable pitches, weaving subtle and intricate layers of sound. Through the use of a geophon (earthquake detector) and transducer, the sonic and spatial dimensions of the inside piano and percussion are further expanded. By infinitely magnifying the smallest elements within the soundscape, a “field” emerges—composed of microscopic sonic events.
“…An another parable: heaven is like this:
someone sowed good seed in the field.
while the enemy came and we was asleep,
sowed poison among the wheat grain
and went away…”
Matthew 13:24
