A lone wheat grain fell to the field (2024)

The initial inspiration for the work came from a scene: a foggy, gloomy sky spreads over a field covered with dark golden wheat. In the background stands an abandoned, rusty-golden harvester on an empty farm, its grainy sounds echoing in the silent landscape. This imagery closely resembles the aesthetics of Hideo Kojima’s “Timefall Farm” in his game “Death Stranding”. The sounds extracted from this scene possess a unique texture and ultimately led me to the words:
“unless a wheat grain falls to the field, it remains only a single seed.
But if it dies, it produces many seeds.
Anyone who loves their life will lose it,
while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life.”
(John 12:24-25)
